This position is open to Egyptian nationals only.

The Life Safety Architect will be responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of life safety and fire protection strategies across all project phases. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with local and international life safety codes while integrating requirements seamlessly within architectural and multidisciplinary design workflows.

The position requires close collaboration with Architectural, MEP, Firefighting, ELV, BIM, and authority stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and buildable design solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review life safety concepts, strategies, and narratives for various project types.
• Prepare and review life safety drawings, egress plans, and fire compartmentation layouts.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian Codes and international standards (NFPA, IBC, BS, UAE Fire Code, etc.).
• Review architectural layouts for occupancy classification, means of egress, travel distances, fire ratings, and smoke control requirements.
• Coordinate life safety requirements with Architectural, Structural, MEP, Firefighting, and ELV disciplines.
• Participate in authority submissions, technical meetings, and approval processes.
• Support BIM teams to ensure accurate life safety modeling and documentation.
• Identify design risks and propose compliant, practical, and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior architects and design teams.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized university (minimum grade: Good).
5–15 years of professional experience in architectural design with a strong focus on life safety and code compliance.
• Proven experience on large-scale and complex projects (commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, transportation, etc.).
• Experience coordinating with Civil Defense / Fire Authorities is highly desirable.

Specific Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of life safety and fire protection principles.
• In-depth understanding of local regulations and international codes (NFPA, IBC, BS, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to review and interpret fire engineering and performance-based design reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.
