We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead our team at GYG Bundall on the Gold Coast.

This is a hands-on, full-time management role running a high-volume Guzman y Gomez drive-thru restaurant on Bundall Road, between Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast’s inner suburbs. We trade from 5:00am to midnight Monday to Thursday and 24 hours a day Friday to Sunday, across dine-in, drive-thru, takeaway, the GYG app and website, and delivery platforms.

What you'll be doing

• Setting and reviewing stock, par and preparation levels to keep food fresh and wastage low, maintaining accurate records of stock levels, stocktakes, deliveries and wastage in the inventory and point-of-sale systems
• Setting and enforcing GYG service standards for speed, order accuracy, food quality and cleanliness across in-store, app and delivery orders
• Driving uptake of the GYG app, online ordering and loyalty program
• Rolling out national marketing campaigns in-store and building local marketing plans for the Bundall area
• Raise ideas for promotion and advertising local offers within the GYG’s recommended pricing framework to franchisees, with, for example, Bundall businesses and offices, shift workers, sporting clubs, community events and catering orders
• Working the floor during peak trade, selling to customers and advising them on menu items, customisation, dietary requirements and allergens
• Resolving customer complaints and feedback, including online reviews and delivery platform issues
• Overseeing cash handling, till reconciliations and daily banking, and preparing weekly and monthly sales, labour and stock reports
• Controlling the recruitment, selection, onboarding and training of crew, shift supervisors and kitchen staff
• Supervising the team day to day, building rosters to trading demand and labour budget, approving timesheets and managing performance
• Supervising the restaurant overnight as the senior manager on site, running overnight and early-morning shifts, managing late-night dine-in, drive-thru and delivery trade, and making operational decisions without the owners on site
• Managing overnight safety and security, including cash security, CCTV, staff safety, responsible service of alcohol, handling of intoxicated or aggressive customers, and closing and opening procedures
• Ensuring compliance with work health and safety/food safety requirements, including the food safety program, temperature and allergen controls, cleaning schedules, incident reporting, and internal audits and council inspections
• Make marketing or retail product suggestions to the franchisees to make Bundall GYG even better!

About you

• Diploma in retail, hospitality or business management (or 3+ years' relevant retail or quick service restaurant management experience)
• Prior leadership experience in a busy, high-volume hospitality environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Exceptional people skills with the natural ability to inspire and motivate a young team
• Available to work a rotating roster, including overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts
• A hands-on leader with a positive, can-do attitude!
