Job Description

As the Account Director, you will provide dedicated service to ensure client success. You will be the primary point of contact for named accounts and interact with internal, functional teams to ensure growth and high performance. Reporting to the head of sales, you will work closely with clients to identify needs and business objectives, assist in implementing solutions, and resolve issues along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ultimate accountability for client satisfaction, account revenue growth, and team leadership on assigned accounts
  • Engage clients on a regular basis to evaluate and ensure the success of digital initiatives
  • Identify and pursue course correction when needed 
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts and present new ideas to clients on an ongoing basis
  • Navigate opportunities to upsell and cross-sell within accounts
  • Remain informed of industry trends for strategic growth and expansion opportunities
  • Lead annual project visioning exercises for clients
  • Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clients
  • Document and manage change orders, statements of work and master services agreements
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery teams to enhance relationships for exceptional results
  • Maintain steady retention and sales target alignment
  • Partner with business development teams to cultivate new opportunities for existing clients
  • Attend tradeshows and provide stewardship for attending clients
  • Travel to client locations, conferences, and tradeshows 

Qualifications

 

  • Proven ability to maintain and grow client relationships
  • Sound business acumen: strategic skills, ecommerce industry knowledge, and common sense
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Creative thinking and analytical problem solving
  • Strong work ethic
  • Advanced understanding of financials and their impact on scope, run-rate, deadlines, productivity, viability, and recognition of risks
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Affinity for learning with a deep personal commitment to continual improvement
  • Must be able to motivate and lead others in the development, direction and execution of online communication initiatives.  Some prior staff performance management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership ability and exercise good judgment and diplomacy
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Technology, Psychology, Communications, or similar
  • 7 years of professional experience selling and/or managing accounts in eCommerce
  • A strong and strategic customer service orientation with the ability to form long-term relationships with mid-senior level partners within client organizations
  • A demonstrated track record of expanding business within existing customers
  • Prior experience supporting new business pitches is required
