Job Description

Position Summary:

The Guardant Health AMEA team delivers solutions to the organization that drive innovation, growth and efficiency for the diagnostics business. This team is dedicated to developing systems and services to make sample processing secure, robust, high quality, and fast, enabling Guardant to deliver test results to our patients in AMEA.

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will lead development of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), leveraging LabVantage commercial platform. (S)he will help define the necessary functional requirements, detailed acceptance criteria, user workflows and system behaviors that are necessary to deliver solutions to drive the business forward.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with end-users, product management and development team members to document functional designs, processes and requirements
  • Provide guidance on LIMS core capabilities and limitations with intent of bringing the right solution to the problem
  • Perform configuration and administration of LabVantage LIMS, utilizing industry best practices
  • Engage with engineering team and provide the necessary analysis and details to drive efficient delivery
  • Participate as a core team member in design, review, and planning meetings with development leadership. 
  • Influence development processes and work to “right size” the process based on the strategy for the given project requirements, scope, timelines and available resources
  • Partner with Product Managers to plan and facilitate the discovery of business requirements and document in the form of business objectives, goals, success criteria, user workflows, epics and user stories. 
  • Support the ongoing backlog grooming process, along with the Product Manager to define value, priority, and select scope for upcoming releases and sprints. 
  • Analyze requirements to ensure they are consistent, complete, unambiguous, and organized. Ensuring requirements are "ready" for development and facilitating development planning. 
  • Work cross functionally with multiple teams onsite/ offshore with technical and non-technical stakeholders .
  • Work closely with business and facilitate UAT and Test Strategy creation, actively participate with Software Test for stable product and robust test case creation. 
  • Manager external vendor engagements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Five (4)+ years of experience as a Business / System Analyst
  • Three (3)+ years of experience working with laboratory workflow (we use LabVantage LIMS), including knowledge of functional modules, performing configuration and administration. (Equivalent experience with different commercial LIMS may be acceptable)
  • Functional knowledge of Enterprise Software Platforms
  • Strong technical design and analysis skills
  • Prior experience defining functional solutions and requirements for software projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Comfortable building and demonstrating workflow diagrams and mock-ups.
  • Knowledge of functional analysis, use case scenarios and process flow design.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills and presentation skills
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility that supports clear visual communication of quantitative information. (Strong use of standardized communication tools such as Powerpoint, Miro and diagramming applications)
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Japanese language competency if not native Japanese speaker
  • Desired but not required:
  • Database knowledge such as SQL and data analytics a plus
  • Knowledge of Life Sciences and healthcare including: Clinical terms and concepts is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare environment is a plus
