Job Description

As a HIT Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in leading the implementation team that works directly with providers and health care system IT teams to ensure effective and efficient integration with electronic health record ecosystems.  

You will help lead the implementation and integration of our cancer screening tests with customer health systems. Your results will be a smooth customer journey through all cancer screening steps. You’ll impact user satisfaction, cancer test adoption and adherence rate in a way visible in national public health metrics. 

In this role you will serve as a subject-matter expert on HIT Solutions and the implementation owner responsible for working with multiple stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams, develop end-to-end implementation plans, designing efficient workflow processes, and the successful deployment of integration solutions with our customer’s health systems.

The ideal candidate is a technically oriented professional that can lead a team through complex integration projects. They are excited to take on technical ownership, collaborate with other functional groups, and partner with internal team members and customers to implement solutions and plans through a deep understanding of our customer needs. 

You have solid expertise in working with different EMR vendors and/or labs on integration projects as well as a deep understanding of how HIT (e.g., EMR, PHM, Analytics and Clinical Decision Support) is currently leveraged in the healthcare industry and specifically, within Health Systems. You love engaging with customers (physicians, patients) to understand their unmet needs and translate them into requirements. You know how to drive the software development team to deliver at their best. 

You will closely collaborate with Software Development, HS Marketing, Patient Navigation, HIT Solutions, Marketing Analytics, Medical Affairs, and Reimbursement teams and champion the customer voice relentlessly.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the EMR connectivity and integration process from inception to completion with transparent progress tracking, on-time delivery, and on-target budget 

  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and lead regular project status update meetings with the customer 

  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure overall success of the customer implementation 

  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership 

  • Serves as technical lead for intermediate implementation of software solutions that will support internal workflows 

  • Works with technical and business stakeholders closely to integrate HL7 interfaces and FHIR APIs across a variety of endpoints  

  • Researching and gathering functional requirements for specific interfaces 

  • Prepare the HL7/FHIR interface specification documents for integrations with partner sites 

  • Bring internal and external stakeholders together to co-create solutions to advance our mission of early cancer detection 

  • Support HIT Solution concept development efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and Health Systems customers 

 

Qualifications/Experience: 

  • 5+ years of EMR Implementation and/or Integration experience  

  • Previous experience with at least one integration platform: Redox, MuleSoft, Corepoint, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Mirth, Sunquest Atlas, Elkay 

  • Prior experience or Epic Certification and implementation or Integration experience with Epic clinical applications preferred (such as ASAP, ClinDoc, Ambulatory, Beaker, Orders, Beacon, OpTime) 

  • Experience with both existing and emerging healthcare interoperability data formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, XML, CSV, etc.) 

  • Excellent project management and demonstrated client relationship management experience 

  • Experience navigating through complex health system environment 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various HIT platforms, tools, and trends, specifically in the Primary Care and Laboratory settings 

  • Experience working with different EMR vendors and/or laboratory information systems (LIS) on connectivity projects 

  • A strong ability to communicate with customers, understand their needs, and apply that knowledge to a product roadmap 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders incl. senior leadership, efficiently influence without direct authority, ability to manage across broad number of tasks 

  • Strong analytical thinker, problem-solver, creates a culture of collaboration and teamwork, facilitate discussions of complex ideas 

  • Familiar with start-up working environment, self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity 

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time 

  • The position is based in Palo Alto, California
