Job Description

About the Role:

The Program Manager, Operations, is a key leadership role on the team. Working closely with the Senior Director of Commercial Development your primary goal is to drive and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for building order-to-cash operations (processes – technologies – people) to support the commercialization of a breakthrough blood-based cancer screening test.

You will drive the teams towards operational readiness, define critical milestones and core activities, identify key dependencies and critical path, support alignment across functions. You will develop a schedule and actively engage to help the teams stay on track. You will identify the resources required to operate and you will oversee the program budget.

You have experience in project management for building operations processes and ideally, implementing enterprise software in a clinical laboratory setting.

You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including marketing, regulatory, software development, client services, biospecimen management, lab operations, and others.  You will also work very closely with the PMO team to leverage best practices from the rest of the organization and bring to this program standardized project management practices. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive and coordinate a cross functional project team to successfully develop end to end order-to-cash operations, including the business processes, supporting systems and software stack (e.g. SFDC, Sample Management software, Business Intelligence tools)
  • Support communication program updates to the core team, to functional management and to executive leadership
  • Lead the program planning and scheduling process
  • Ensure timely team completion of deliverables in line with quality guidelines and expectations
  • Identify risks and lead team efforts to mitigate and work with leadership of the program to resolve them quickly as they arise
  • Lead the team through problem resolution including root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Define program resource needs, negotiate program resourcing plans and track resource usage over the course of the program
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications:

  • PMP certification is highly desired
  • Experience working in team environments is required. Knowledge of Program / Project Management tools such as project scheduling (e.g. Smartsheet), work breakdown structures, time and cost reporting is required
  • Experience in project management applied to developing laboratory operations, and implementing software is preferred
  • Experience working in a CLIA laboratory setting is preferred
  • Experience leading project teams to successfully prepare the commercialization of medical devices or in vitro diagnostic products is preferred
  • Position requires the ability to collect information from multiple sources, sort through, integrate, and resolve often conflicting requirements, and drive an organization through the various issues to result in a successful commercialization
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall program management is preferred
  • The position is based in Redwood City, California

Education:

Bachelors degree in a business or a technical discipline. An advanced degree in either business or a technical field is desired. Relevant experience of 3 to 5 years with BS/BA. PMP or similar certification is highly desired
