Job Description

To support Guardant Health’s mission to Conquer Cancer with Data, the product team is looking for an experienced leader to manage scope, requirements and prioritization for the Guardant Health client portal.  The Guardant Health portal is our primary electronic interface to our clients and is instrumental in providing information to our clients to help combat cancer.  The portal development will primarily focus on our diagnostic test management and result delivery but will also include system integration with other software such as CRM and internal services.

The software product management team engages with core teams, system end-users and corporate leadership to identify the highest priority work to direct the portal development team to work on.  The responsibilities include assessing critical business needs, evaluating, designing and driving implementation of new or streamlined portal capabilities.  The scope of the Sr. Software Product Manager will focus on the Guardant Health portal as the primary interface to our health care professional clients. 

The strategy of the software product team is to be a center for business process excellence for the organization. Our team provides software product expertise, business analysis, cross-functional organization and stakeholder management for the software development team.  We strive to guarantee successful implementation, scalability and sustainability for internal and external initiatives that benefit patients, clients, internal users and the company.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the portal product roadmap and drive execution plans by performing cost benefit analysis, scenario planning and trade-off reviews with product and software development teams.
  • Participation on various core teams representing software product management and providing bidirectional communication between software development and other functional groups.
  • Gather user needs, problem statements and feedback from stakeholders in order to define projects, feature definitions, requirements, designs and process improvements for the development teams.
  • Document software product requirements and support core teams for necessary documentation required to deliver to various regulatory standards.
  • Provide regular status updates to management and stakeholders on program progress, delays, changes and successful implementations.
  • Manage the backlog of work for development and apply best practices to prioritize the work that will provide the most impactful benefit to the organization for the resource investment.
  • Understand the big picture in order to provide clear business context to team members and motivate development teams to deliver to the product vision.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to help coordinate software development timelines with broader programs.

Qualifications

 In addition, you bring:

  • 8+ years of software product management and/or product development experience
  • Strong business acumen to manage portfolio level recommendations
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Successful experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in diagnostics and/or healthcare companies
  • Experience with test order management software such as portals is highly desirable
  • Experience performing usage analytics of software applications is a plus
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. FDA, CLIA, GCP, etc.) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related field
