Job Description

Operator Main Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you're responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water & Wastewater facilities. This position will report to the area Operations Manager.

  • The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
    • Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring and reporting process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities;
    • Provide operational support & troubleshooting for plant operations
    • Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables;
    • Create maintenance requests and assist in the development of work scope quotation with our Technical Services Group for scopes of work within the plant facility;
    • Monitor Lift Stations as required;
    • Monitor Storm ponds as required;
    • Complete and compile data of daily; inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required;
    • Perform maintenance tasks as requested by the supervisor;
    • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting;
    • Preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required;
    • Provide training and mentorship to plant operational staff;
    • Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely);
    • Participate, enforce, and comply with all aspects of the company's health and safety program.

Hours of Work

The Operator position will be a 10/4 day rotation (10 days on, 4 days off). Generally, hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current WWT Level I min (proof of certification is required);
  • Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb);
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge;
  • Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Microsoft Office program experience;
  • Strong independent worker and team player;
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members;
  • Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Training certificates in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, and TDG;
  • Supervisor safety training courses considered an asset.
