Canam Group in Brasov began as a small detailing office in 1998 which afterward became a major company on the Brasov market with its building and more than 400 employees. 

Our team in Brasov provides 3D modeling, detailing and estimation services for constructions such as buildings, steel structures and bridges. We work with our plants and offices in Canada, the United States and other North American steel fabricators. 

We also have our own IT team developing software for internal use.

Job Description

Collect and evaluate project data and calculate the structural loads in order to estimate the quantities, costs, resources, and labour needed to produce construction elements in accordance with customer’s requirements and industry practices using specific tools and applications while ensuring project criteria are met and consistent with the corporate mission and values.

Essential Functions:

  • Gather, examine and interpret information from project documents;
  • Report discrepancies and missing information on the contract documents;
  • Analyze and calculate the loads to dimension the building's structural elements.
  • Detect special conditions, components or possible issues and propose solutions;
  • Complete quantity take-offs for construction elements;
  • Complete project quotations;
  • Evaluate cost by analyzing labour, material, and time requirements;
  • Complete key plans, reports and lists as required;
  • Transmit complete and clear information to the other trades involved in the project;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor;
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors and customers.

Qualifications

  • Technical faculty graduate;
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specifications;
  • Self-organized, attentive, and capable of making decisions based on accumulated knowledge;
  • Computer skills;
  • Knowledge of the English or French language;
  • Good learning and communication skills;
  • Other competencies: verbal communication, collaboration, client focus, consulting others, stress management, continuous development, energy agility, autonomy, focus on results, and respecting commitments.
