Canam Bridges designs, manufactures and installs steel bridges for major infrastructure contractors across North America. Canam Bridges is a member of Canam Group, which has over 3,500 employees and operates 12 plants in North America, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines.

Job Description

  • Advise, assist and support plant leadership and managers with respect to practices, policies and company procedures for the proactive management of human resources while ensuring judicious application;
  • Develop and maintain documentation and reports for the department of labor and other government agencies;
  • Manage and oversee payroll, and determine medical benefits and 401K to ensure judicious applications;
  • Interpret legal texts and regulations by identifying their impacts and communicate and monitor them;
  • Lead continuous improvement processes around human resources management;
  • Involved in all aspects of organizational development, recruitment, performance management and succession development activities;
  • Make contracts with outside suppliers to provide employer and employee services;
  • In conjunction with departmental managers, develop and coordinate the company’s general training needs. Conduct training on company policy issues, employee development and other issues as they arise;
  • Counsel employees and other managers on various employee relation issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent
  • 5 -10 years of management in Human Resources
  • Computer experience and skills in ADP, SAP and Google Workspace
  • Good communications skills; verbal and written
  • Ability to lead, develop and influence others
  • Ability to interact well with people on all levels
