The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting Grimco's human resources operations across our multi-state footprint. This position serves as a key operational partner in the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment through offboarding, while maintaining our HRIS system and ensuring seamless HR processes. Job Description
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned positions, including job postings, candidate phone interviews, interview coordination, and offer letter preparation
- Partner with hiring managers across sales, warehouse, manufacturing, and corporate functions to understand staffing needs
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding processes
- Ensure new employees complete all required paperwork, system access requests, and orientation activities
Benefits Administration
- Serve as a contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues
- Coordinate open enrollment processes and ensure timely communication to employees
- Process benefits changes related to qualifying life events and new hires
- Maintain benefits documentation and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to assist employees
Time & Attendance Management
- Monitor timecard approvals and follow up with employees and managers as needed
- Address timecard discrepancies and coordinate corrections
- Ensure accurate tracking of PTO and other leave balances
General HR Support
- Update employee profiles with job title changes, reporting structure modifications, and department transfers
- Manage and coordinate annual review cycles within the HRIS platform
- Process terminations, ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable laws
- Maintain offboarding documentation and update all relevant systems
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Maintain employee files in compliance with federal and state recordkeeping requirements
- Contribute to HR projects and process improvement initiatives
- Provide backup support for other HR team members as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-4 years of human resources experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
