Job Description

The School of Education and Professional Studies (EPS) is seeking a highly organised and efficient Administrative Support Officer to join our team. As an integral part of our organisation, you will provide crucial administrative support to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the overall success of our University. Your duties will include:

  • Manage and coordinate office operations, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and organising meetings
  • Support the School's research activities by organising invitations, maintaining databases and assisting research students
  • Support the School's professional experience activities through the appointment and timetabling of casual liaison and by the administration of the teacher payment process
  • Handle communications on these and other matters in a professional and timely manner
  • Prepare and edit various documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports for staff members
  • Support team projects and initiatives as needed
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and maintaining School operations
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline administrative processes
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders

About you
The successful candidate will have an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

You will also have the following:

  • Demonstrated administrative support experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to addressing challenges
  • Customer service orientation with a professional demeanour
  • Experience with, or interest in, business process automations strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is desirable
  • Administrative certifications (e.g., Certified Administrative Professional) will be advantageous

What we can offer
This is a continuing position, full-time position and will be primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full-time base salary for a HEW Level 4 is in the range $76,126 - $80,321 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $89,067 - $93,976 per annum.
