Job Description
We’re looking for a passionate and highly organised Technical Officer to join our Technical Partners Health team, supporting teaching and learning across the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Paramedicine. In this hands-on role, you’ll provide technical and scientific support for simulation-based education and prosthetics technical support (Dentistry), working closely with academic staff and technical teams to deliver high-quality, safe, and innovative learning experiences for students.

As a Technical Officer, you will:
Collaborate with course conveners and more senior technical staff to facilitate the development and improvement of new and existing experimental protocols and regularly update associated pre-clinical facilities and protocols documentation.
Prepare, set up and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring practical teaching sessions run smoothly and safely
Ensure the professional standards and preparation of prosthetics and pre-clinical areas are maintained and the appropriate labelling and storage of resources.
Manage equipment and consumables, including stocktakes, procurement, maintenance and calibration to industry standards
Review and maintain documentation such as lab resource statements, risk assessments and standard operating procedures
Provide technical instruction and support to staff, while contributing to special events, workshops and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
Hold a relevant Health-based degree or have an equivalent combination of training, knowledge, and experience in a similar technical support environment
Have demonstrated experience supporting dentistry pre-clinical, simulation, or laboratory-based teaching activities
Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and adapt to changing demands
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academic staff, students and technical teams
Show a commitment to continuous improvement, with a proactive, detail-oriented approach and a focus on delivering high-quality, safe and inclusive learning environments
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary for a HEW Level 4 is in the range $76,126 - $80,321 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $89,067 - 93,976 per annum.
