Job Description

School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work is pleased to offer an opportunity for a Placements / Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Educator in a continuing, full-time role based at the Gold Coast campus.

The WIL Educator will support the Social Work discipline to design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality and innovative placement models across a range of professional practice settings. The role plays a key part in ensuring students gain meaningful, well-supported placement experiences that enable them to develop professional capabilities and meet accreditation and course requirements.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and supervising Social Work student placements, providing academic and professional support to students throughout their placement journey. The role involves building and maintaining strong partnerships with placement providers, supervisors, and community organisations to expand placement capacity and support sustainable workforce development.

Working under the direction of the Placement and Partnerships Team Leader, the WIL Educator will collaborate closely with academic staff within the School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work, Placement Officers, and key internal and external stakeholders. The role contributes to continuous improvement in placement delivery, supports student learning outcomes, and strengthens relationships across the health and community sectors.

About you

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Work professional who is committed to supporting student success and enhancing the quality of work-integrated learning experiences. You will hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for AASW membership, with demonstrated experience in field education, supervision, or practice within community or mental health settings.

You will be highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a collaborative academic and industry environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will engage with students, placement providers, and academic staff to coordinate and support placements across a variety of settings.

Your ability to apply initiative, solve problems, and contribute to innovative placement models will be key to the success of this role.

Salary range

The full-time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 7 range $101,068 - $109.496 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $118,249 - $128,110 per annum.
