About the Opportunity

As a leading knowledge-based institution throughout the Asia–Pacific, the Griffith Sciences Group takes pride in its ongoing global contributions to the higher education sector. We are excited to be looking for a Senior Executive Officer

This role provides senior leadership and strategic oversight of research support services across the Group’s Research Entities. Working closely with Research Entity Directors, the role delivers high‑quality, compliant and strategically aligned research operations that drive research performance, outcomes and impact.

Acting as a key liaison between Research Entities, central services, Schools and the Group, the position provides high level strategic and operational advice, leads a team of research professionals, and oversees financial and physical resources. The role also drives the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to strengthen research capability, performance and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high level executive support and strategic advice to the Sciences Research Entity Directors across complex operational, financial and strategic matters.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of major initiatives and strategic projects, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, governance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee core operational functions including resource allocation, budget management, reporting and cross‑group coordination to deliver outcomes on time and within scope.
  • Lead external engagement initiatives and strategic events, and oversee staff induction, development and capability‑building programs to support a high‑performing research environment.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing research services team, fostering collaboration, accountability and service excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including central portfolios, industry, government and funding bodies, to enhance research performance and impact.

About you

  • The occupant of this position will hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area together with significant high level administrative and project management experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check.

Salary Range

HEW 9 salary – Base range - $132,655.36 - $137,398.61 + 17% super. Full package - $155,206.78 - $160,756.39.
