You will contribute to initiatives that create real and lasting impact across our campuses, communities and partnerships.

Job Description

As a Sustainability Project Officer, you’ll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter:

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of sustainability initiatives aligned to Griffith’s Sustainability Strategy and SDG Roadmap.

  • Partner with academic, professional and external stakeholders to embed sustainability across teaching, research, governance and engagement.

  • Develop and deliver sustainability communication and engagement campaigns that inspire action across the University community.

  • Contribute to sustainability reporting, research, data collection and analysis to support global rankings and impact frameworks.

  • Support events, communities of practice and strategic programs that strengthen Griffith’s leadership in sustainability and social impact.

This role will support the implementation of Griffith’s Sustainability Strategy and contribute to achieving key environmental and social sustainability outcomes.

You will also have:

  • A degree in sustainability, environmental management, social impact or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across diverse teams.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience developing campaigns, content and events.

  • Analytical and research capability, with experience supporting reporting, data collection or evaluation.

  • A passion for sustainability, innovation and creating positive environmental and social outcomes.

What we can offer
This is a 2-year fixed term position offered at 0.8 FTE initially, with the opportunity to increase to full-time if preferred. Griffith is committed to flexible work and welcomes applications from candidates seeking part-time, flexible hours or job share arrangements.

This position primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 6 range $91,843 – $97,964 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $107,456 – $114,617 per annum.
