Join our Careers and Employability team!  Assist in developing and implementing the University’s employability strategy and enhance student experience and graduate outcomes.

Supporting students with disabilities to transition into meaningful employment that is aligned with their studies, you will deliver professional, proactive, and inclusive career development services.

Job Description

The position works in close collaboration with the Student Disability and Accessibility team, Inclusive Employment Australia providers, and key internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and impactful approach. A central focus of the role is leading the development and delivery of a tailored careers program for students with disabilities.

  • Use student data and labour market insights to shape strategy and improve services.
  • Design and lead the Graduate Accelerator Program for students with disabilities.
  • Develop accessible career resources and deliver workshops, consultations, and events.
  • Provide personalised career support addressing unique challenges and diverse needs.
  • Build partnerships with industry and disability employment providers to create pathways to paid meaningful work.
  • Train staff and partners on inclusive practices to enhance employment outcomes.
  • Stay informed on career development trends and graduate recruitment insights.

About you

It is essential you can demonstrate that you have substantial experience in working with people with disabilities.

In addition, to be successful in this position and to enjoy the rewarding nature of the role, it is important you have highly developed skills in the following areas:

  • Career development, employability programs, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive practices and accessibility requirements.
  • Ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent communication and program design skills.
  • Commitment to equity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

What we can offer

  • This is a fixed-term (until 31.12.2027), full-time position primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
  • Base Salary Hew 8 in the range of $113713 - $127923 per annum plus 17% Superannuation. The salary including superannuation is in the range $133,044 -$149,670 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Careers Counselling, Career Development or Career Education endorsed by the Careers Industry Council of Australia (CICA).
  • Eligibility for Professional Membership such as the National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS), Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), and/or the Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability (ATEND).
  • Extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in career development and substantial industry experience in disability services.
  • Extensive knowledge of the legislative framework within which disability services are provided in tertiary education environments.
  • Knowledge of current Inclusive Employment Australia contract and eligibility of students who are studying.
