Job Description
Griffith University’s Health Group is seeking a visionary leader to join us as Director – Digital Health and Innovation. In this senior leadership role, you will drive strategic transformation across the Health Group by integrating digital technologies and AI into education, research, and practice. You will shape the future of health innovation, foster cross-sector collaboration, and prepare graduates to thrive in a digitally enabled health ecosystem.
Key responsibilities in the role will include but not be limited to:
- Develop and implement a forward-looking digital health strategy, positioning the Health Group as a national and global leader in digital health innovation.
- Mentor and support academic staff to build expertise in digital health, fostering a team of champions in this field.
- Lead the design and integration of digital health and AI capabilities across health programs, equipping graduates for the workforce of the future.
- Embed digital literacy and innovation into teaching and learning to enhance student success, retention, and career readiness.
- Champion interdisciplinary research in digital health, translating findings into scalable, real-world solutions.
- Build strategic collaborations with health providers, technology leaders, and government agencies to co-create impactful digital health initiatives.
- Represent Griffith University nationally and internationally, contributing to policy, thought leadership, and sector-wide digital transformation.
This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for five years, based at the Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary for a Professor (Level E) will be $215,130 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be $251,703 per annum.
An attractive package will be offered to the successful candidate.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in digital health or related fields and will:
- Hold a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation in standing.
- Have a proven record of leading digital health transformation projects across education, research, and health services.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex technologies and innovations into practical outcomes.
- Be an inspiring mentor and leader, capable of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Possess strong collaboration and partnership skills, with experience engaging industry, government, and international stakeholders.
- Show a commitment to student success, digital literacy, and workforce readiness in a rapidly evolving health landscape.
- Have excellent communication and influence skills, able to represent the Health Group at national and international forums.
