Job Description
The Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of a wide range of on campus events and activities. These events are designed to predominantly engage current Griffith students, however there are some opportunities for staff, prospective students, and members of the broader community to join in some of the events on offer. The Event Coordinator also oversees and supervises casual staff and volunteers to ensure the successful delivery of each event.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Event Manager for the planning, coordination, and delivery of ~65 annual on-campus events, including activations, student gatherings, and market days.

- Assist with event data, proposals, post-event reporting, and budget tracking.
- Coordinate casual event staff across recruitment, scheduling, supervision, and performance.
- Manage the Griffith Student Event Leaders (GSEL) Program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance.
- Partner with the Event Manager and Griffith Sport Marketing team to create and deliver promotional materials across print, digital, and social media.
- Support continuous improvement of event administration and operational processes.
- Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure safety, risk, and compliance requirements are met, including risk assessments, documentation, and reporting.
