Are you passionate about enhancing learning and teaching in higher education? Griffith University’s Centre for Collaborative Educational Excellence (CCEE) is seeking a motivated and innovative Learning and Teaching Designer to support professional development and drive educational transformation through enhancing the design and delivery of our programs and courses.

About the opportunity
Learning & Teaching Designers (LTDs) within CCEE play a key role in supporting and enhancing the curriculum, pedagogy, and design of programs and courses across a range of delivery modes to achieve high-quality learning outcomes for students. They also contribute to the academic professional development of staff to enhance learning and teaching practices across the University.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Teaching Designer to contribute to an initiative aimed at improving inclusive learning and teaching practices, working closely with Student Life unit . The role will provide high-level expertise in educational design, project management, and academic staff development to:

  • Design and develop inclusive educational resources that support diverse learner needs.
  • Embed principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into curriculum and resource development.
  • Lead and support training initiatives that build staff capability in inclusive and accessible teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote equitable learning experiences across the university.

What we can offer

  • A full-time, fixed-term (two years) position based at either Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University, you may be required to work across other locations.
  • Base Salary $113,713 - $127,923 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation $133,044 - $149,670.

Qualifications

About you

  • Hold a postgraduate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
  • Demonstrated experience applying pedagogical strategies and approaches in the design and development of courses and other learning experiences with a focus on inclusive practices and UDL.
  • Strong project management capabilities across multiple simultaneous projects. 
  • Extensive experience planning and implementing professional development activities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and problem solve.
