Technical Partners provides a range of support services, delivered through business partnering and the provision of specialist technical support with our teams. We work closely with academic colleagues and senior managers to spotlight partnering with Schools, Research Groups, and other stakeholders within Griffith Health and to meet strategic and operational technical support priorities across Griffith Health.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a passionate Technical Officer for the Nursing and Midwifery group, to support the Simulation and Practical Experience team and ensure the delivery of high-quality simulation and practical related learning activities predominantly across Nursing and Midwifery and the Health Group collectively.

Under the supervision of the Team Leader and guidance of Senior Technical Officer School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will be responsible for providing technical support for laboratory/teaching space practical classes in both Anatomy and Physiology practical teaching activities and Clinical Simulations, including set up, pack down and procurement.

This position will also be responsible for implementing and responding to Work Health and Safety policy, procedure, guidelines and risks to contribute to a safe working environment for staff and students. This is a collaborative Professional (non-Academic) position where you will engage with academic colleagues and other professional staff as well as students.

What we can offer
This is a continuing, full time position primarily based at the Griffith University Logan Campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $73,623 - $77,680 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,138 - $90,885 per annum.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent class facilitation knowledge communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude to assist in classroom-based learning. You will also have, but not limited to:

  • Completed a relevant Health based degree or associate Diploma with subsequent experience in successfully providing technical support to a health working environment or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Developed critical thinking skills, highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Health and Safety compliance acumen within specialised teaching environments. 
  • Excellent communication, inclusive and respectful with a collaborative attitude and a desire to work in a strong team culture.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365, including Teams & SharePoint platforms.
  • Ability to handle direction and work autonomously, readily adaptable to changing work requirements and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Experience in supporting learning and teaching practical and simulation activities in Nursing and/or Midwifery or another Health-related discipline in a higher education environment would be highly regarded.
