About the Opportunity 

Located within the Provost portfolio, the newly established Online Strategy Unit (OSU) will drive the creation and implementation of a transformative vision for online education programming through strategic leadership and oversight of the growth and expansion of the University’s online learning programs.  

Building on Griffith’s already well-recognised synchronous and hybrid online offerings, the Unit will develop a suite of degrees in partnership with all Academic Groups for delivery in a cutting edge, high quality, technology-enabled and student-focused learning design model. 

The Web Graphic Design Specialist/Learning Media Producer plays a key role in the work of the Unit to produce high quality fully online student experiences by contributing high quality digital assets to the course builds in OSU programs. The role collaborates closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure the successful design and creation of fully online course sites. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and produce a range of digital assets (infographics, icons, animations, brochures, promotion pieces, interactives) to be used in OSU projects. Design and create a range of multimedia assets, including explanatory animations and motion graphics, to produce dynamic, visually appealing learning resources.  

  • Creation and design of online course sites to be used in OSU projects and professional development programs utilising various software and online tools. 

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create style and consistency guides that encompass the branding requirements and design preferences of the OSU. 

  • Proven ability to interpret course content and design interactive and engaging digital learning assets.  

  • Work with the Learning Designers and relevant stakeholders to design and produce an approach to learning media implementation that satisfies the requirements of a course or program and the objectives of the OSU. 

  • Use highly developed interpersonal and professional communication skills, including experience in the development of reports and the ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences.  

  • Provide advice on learning media content approaches, principles, emergent technologies, practices, requirements and strategies for scalable and sustainable media services. 

  • Ensure that all learning media content in a course or program is produced to design briefs, conforms to the branding and other requirements of the university and the OSU, and is created to quality industry and technical standards. 

  • Manage any assigned portfolio of learning media content production work as applicable. 

  • Develop OSU’s learning media capability through guidance, coaching and mentoring. 

About you 

  • Proven experience in motion graphics, character animation and web-based media, you're eager to work on projects that make a difference. You enjoy crafting stories through visuals, tackling creative challenges, and bringing ideas to life. 

  • You’re confident with After Effects, Premiere, and Illustrator, with strong 2D character animation skills. 

  • You can simplify complex ideas into visually engaging graphics and concise explainer videos. 

  • You have experience designing for web-based media, ensuring visuals integrate cleanly into digital platforms. 

  • You understand responsive design principles, ensuring visuals adapt seamlessly across devices. 

  • You follow WCAG accessibility standards, considering contrast, readability, and usability in your designs. 

  • You take pride in polished, high-quality work that follows principles like composition, colour and typography. 

  • You closely follow design briefs and corporate branding requirements, ensuring consistency and clarity in execution. 

  • You can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

This is continuing opportunity based at Logan.  As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.  

HEW 7 Salary – Base range - $98,603.19 - $106,825.89 + 17% super. Full package range - $115,365.74 - $124,986.30.
