Job Description

As the Residential Life & Communications Officer, you will assist the Residential Life Coordinator to implement the Residential Life Program. The role is responsible for fostering academic and personal development, monitor student wellbeing, and improve college members’ overall experience while on college. You will be required to be flexible with working hours and expected to work outside normal office hours. You will:

  • Provide support and guidance as required to residents in relation to college matters under the direction of the Residential Life Coordinator and Accommodation Manager 
  • Oversee the academic component of the Residential Life Program including monitoring student grades and implementing intervention strategies when needed
  • Oversee the Griffith Accommodation social media, newsletters, marketing material and promotional events including but not limited to Open Day & Welcome Weekend
  • Provide support and assist in the design and delivery of the Residential Life Program and College events, including event analysis
  • Be a leading example of the principles and values embodied in the University’s Code of Conduct, and behave, act and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.

This is a full time, continuing position based at the Nathan campus.

Salary range
The full-time base salary for HEW Level 5 position is in the range of $76,236 - $85,525 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $89,197 - $100,064 per annum.

You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of relevant training, qualifications and experience.
  • Be eligible for, or hold a Blue Card.
  • An understanding the academic and personal development needs of students living in residential colleges and ability to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing content for social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience of organising events.
