Job Description
The Griffith Sciences Electronics Workshop provides valuable electronics repair, design and manufacturing services to the Griffith University community. This position is required to provide professional repair and manufacturing services for electrical and electro-mechanical equipment to staff and students of Griffith Sciences and the broader University. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Manufacturing of equipment to supplied specifications in accordance with relevant policies, procedures.
- Repair of equipment, such as ovens, water bathes, stirrers, and heaters to restore functionality. Repairs are carried out onsite across all campuses or in the workshop.
- Electrical Test and Tag of equipment.
- Conduct trouble shooting, fault finding diagnostics and provide appropriate recommendations/solutions.
As a Technical Officer you will hold a high standard of care and attention to client needs and drawing on the collective experience and skills of the Electronics Workshop team to ensure operational needs are met.
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan Campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Salary Range
The base salary for a HEW Level 5 range $74,016 - $83,033 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,599 - $97,149 per annum.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent technical acremen within electrics / electronics or mechatronics and a strong team focus to achieve Griffith University’s Electronic Workshop needs. You will also have, but not limited to:
- The completion of a post-trade certificate or greater in electrics / electronics or mechatronics with the ability to obtain a Queensland Restricted Electronical Work Licence.
- Previous experience working within electrical, electronics or electro-mechanical repairs.
- Ability to provide professional, high-quality advice and support to Griffith Sciences staff and students.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate documentation in accordance with workshop guidelines, policies and procedures, including: stock management, project management, electrical safety compliance, and general finances.
