Job Description

We are looking for a graduate clinical researcher, physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or nurse to fulfil the Clinical Site Coordinator role on the STOP FRACTURE! project, a four-year project funded by the Medical Research Future Fund. The project will evaluate effectiveness of referral pathways to exercise therapy for osteoporosis, and the effectiveness of the exercise therapy as secondary fracture prevention.

Reporting to the chief investigator and project manager, the Clinical Site Coordinator will coordinate clinical site logistics on the STOP FRACTURE study, including, but not exclusively:

  • Clinical site recruitment and engagement
  • Off-site training, implementation, monitoring and supporting the clinical site staff
  • Clinical site assessment and quality assurance
  • Ongoing clinical site monitoring, support and communication
  • Record-keeping and reporting
  • Overseeing clinical site data collection/entry/management, quality assurance and preliminary analysis.

This is a fixed term, part-time (40%) position for the remainder of 2023 (first year) and part-time (80%) position for 2 full years, will be based primarily at our Gold Coast campus, but will potentially involve interstate travel.

Salary range
The full time base salary for a Research Fellow Grade 1 position is in the range $82,359 - $96,473 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $96,360 - $112,873 per annum.

Qualifications

We are looking for a new team member who has experience in a similar role and will bring research skills, clinical expertise in hospital or other health care settings, and strong communication skills to the position. A proven ability to develop productive working relationships across University and clinical settings with external partners and stakeholders is sought.

You will be resourceful and proactive when issues arise and will have strong time-management skills and excellent attention to detail. You will be experienced in multi-tasking and have the ability to effectively prioritise tasks. As a flexible and adaptable team player, you will enjoy working and collaborating with people, and will enjoy the challenge of working in a dynamic research environment.

The successful candidate will have completed a minimum tertiary qualification in Health or Allied Health (e.g. Bachelor Degree or Masters’ degree in Physiotherapy or Nursing) and have postgraduate research qualifications (PhD) or have an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
