Job Description

Located in a tranquil bush setting in Toohey Forest, Griffith’s Early Childcare centres welcome children from three months to five years. Our dedicated team offers a nurturing, engaging and stimulating environment assisting the children of Griffith University staff, students and the wider community to grow and develop their potential.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Reporting to and supporting the Director, achieve the efficient and effective running of a childcare room
  • Assist with implementing the various aspects of the day-to-day running of the ‘Indoor/Outdoor’ program
  • Build attachments with the children, nurturing, protecting and promoting their wellbeing
  • Ensure that parents are well informed about the programs offered to their children and work in cooperation with parents in the best interests of children.  
  • Maintain records and appropriately document children's development.  

This is full time, continuing position, based at the Griffith University Nathan campus.

Pay rate is dependent on level of qualification as per the Griffith University EBA.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will meet the below criteria:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care with relevant work experience in long day care.
  • Suitability Card: Commission For Children And Young People And Child Guardian (Blue Card), Senior First Aid Certificate including Resuscitation, Asthma And Anaphylaxis – you will be supported in obtaining these if necessary.
