Veterinary Director - Greencross Kenmore
- Full-time
Company Description
Lead an established community practice with a well-equipped clinic, access to specialist and emergency care, and Brisbane’s leafy western suburbs on your doorstep.
At Greencross Kenmore, you’ll combine consulting and surgery with responsibility for clinical standards, mentoring and developing the practice. This opportunity would suit an experienced Vet Director or a senior veterinarian ready to take their first step into leadership.
Why Kenmore?
Our purpose-built, stress-free accredited clinic has ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, IM3 dental equipment, Bair Hugger warming and separate cat and dog wards. These facilities support medical investigations, dentistry and surgery, with separate recovery spaces for feline and canine patients.
Kenmore has longstanding relationships with local pet owners. Clients have described taking their pets to the practice from puppyhood and continuing to visit after moving away. For a veterinarian who enjoys knowing their patients and following their progress over the years, there is an established community to build on.
Located next to Petbarn, the clinic sits alongside grooming, puppy school and adoption services. You’ll also have access to a nearby Greencross network including ARH’s specialist and 24/7 emergency services when patients need care beyond the clinic.
Your role
You’ll remain hands-on with patients while helping colleagues develop their clinical skills and judgement. That means discussing cases, explaining your approach to treatment and supporting less experienced vets as they take on more responsibility.
Working alongside your Practice Manager, you’ll help decide how the clinic runs and where it can develop. Your responsibilities will include:
· Providing evidence-based medical and surgical care.
· Overseeing clinical standards, patient safety and continuity of care.
· Mentoring veterinarians through case discussions, practical guidance and feedback.
· Building client relationships through clear explanations, treatment planning and follow-up.
· Reviewing workflows and clinic performance with your Practice Manager.
· Identifying opportunities to develop services and the team’s clinical interests.
Your Regional Clinical Director and experienced Vet Directors across the region will provide ongoing support with clinical questions and the responsibilities of leading a practice.

· 12% superannuation in addition to your base salary.

Life in Brisbane’s west
Approximately 10 km from Brisbane CBD, Kenmore offers local cafés, shopping and schools, with access to the Centenary Highway and public transport. Nearby Mt Coot-tha offers walking trails, cycling and the Botanic Gardens, making it easy to spend your days off outdoors.
The clinic is closed on Sundays and public holidays. We’re happy to discuss working arrangements and Saturday commitments with you.
About you
You’ll bring experience in small animal general practice, confidence in medicine and routine surgery, and an interest in helping other vets develop. You’ll be comfortable making clinical decisions, explaining treatment options to owners and working with your Practice Manager on the practical and commercial responsibilities of running a clinic.
You’ll also need a veterinary qualification recognised in Australia and registration, or eligibility for registration, in Queensland. Previous leadership experience is welcome, and we also encourage experienced associates ready to step into a Vet Director role.
