Our Internal Medicine service brings together highly regarded specialists with deep clinical expertise and a genuinely collaborative approach to complex cases. Led by an internationally recognised, triple-boarded specialist, the team offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside and learn from leaders in veterinary medicine.

With advanced diagnostics, challenging casework, and strong support, ARH Canberra provides the environment to practise veterinary medicine at the highest level. Further supported by a state of the art hospital, offering:

• Full in-house laboratory (CBC, biochemistry, blood gas, coags, SediVue)
• IDEXX Extended Internal Medicine Specialist Consultation Services (after hours)
• Advanced imaging: digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, 64-slice CT, and high-field MRI
• Three surgical suites, ten consult rooms, and a dedicated grieving room

The Internship Program

As a Medicine Intern at ARH, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside our experienced specialists and gain hands-on experience. This intensive internship program will expose you to diverse cases, including emergency medicine, critical care, neurology, surgery, and more.

Under the guidance of our specialists, you will be actively involved in patient care, diagnostics, treatment planning, and client communication. You will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced imaging and dedicated surgical suites. Throughout the internship, you will receive mentorship and ongoing support to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. Journal reviews and the writing of papers will be encouraged and supported as part of further learning.

About You

• A Veterinary degree registerable in the ACT
• One year experience post-graduation
• Passion and self-motivation for continuing education
• Flexible, adaptable, positive attitude with a focus on teamwork
