About the Clinic

Greencross North Lakes is a busy and well-established small animal clinic with a loyal client base and strong community connections.

We care primarily for dogs and cats, with the occasional pocket pet, and offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and preventative healthcare services.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you'll play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operation and long-term success of the clinic.

You'll work closely with the Veterinary Director, nursing team, and regional leadership to create an environment where people thrive, clients receive exceptional service, and patients receive outstanding care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the nursing and reception teams
• Creating and maintaining a positive, engaged workplace culture
• Managing rostering, workflow, and team coordination
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and team development
• Monitoring clinic performance and key business metrics
• Supporting client service excellence and patient care standards
• Managing stock control and inventory processes
• Ensuring clinic compliance and operational standards are maintained
• Working closely with the Vet Director and regional leadership team
• Driving team engagement, retention, and professional development
• Identifying opportunities to improve clinic operations and efficiency
• Providing hands-on nursing or reception support where required 

This role offers the opportunity to have a genuine influence on clinic culture, team engagement, and business performance.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous Practice Manager, Head Nurse, or veterinary leadership experience
• Has a strong background working within the veterinary industry
• Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification (highly regarded)
• Has strong people leadership and coaching skills
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and time-management abilities
• Has experience managing teams, workflows, and clinic operations
• Is a confident communicator who builds strong relationships with clients and colleagues
• Is proactive, solutions-focused, and adaptable
• Has strong business acumen and attention to detail
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
