Senior ECC Vet Nurse - ARH Essendon
- Part-time
Job Description
Full-time Senior ECC Veterinary Nurse | ARH Essendon
We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse with substantial experience in Emergency and Critical Care nursing. You need to be clinically confident, calm under pressure, and capable of leading by example in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of patient care, mentor junior nurses, and contribute to clinical decision-making, with ongoing opportunities to continue expanding your own advanced ECC skillset.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior nurse who enjoys delivering exceptional patient care, while also working closely with the Head Nurse to contribute to the smooth running of the ECC department through administrative and leadership support.
This role is for you if you are already operating at a senior level - or ready to step confidently into one!
What we offer at ARH Essendon:
- Real opportunities to develop and exercise clinical leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and supporting junior nurses
- Rostering to support a work-life balance
- Generous remuneration, including significant shift loading for all non-weekday daytime hours
- Discounts on veterinary treatment across Specialty and Greencross GP clinics
- Discounts within Petbarn retail stores
- Regular free in-house continuing education sessions
- Leave entitlements – up to 5 weeks annual leave/year for shiftworkers, personal/sick leave, carers leave (all leave benefits as per award)
ARH is well equipped with CT, MRI, digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscope, in-house laboratory, ventilators, patient monitors and sophisticated emergency and surgical facilities. ARH utilises fully integrated Rx works software and operates with Smartflow electronic hospital charting. We also have the added advantage of internal referral to our associate specialist departments in surgery, medicine, and advanced imaging.
This role will see you:
- Delivering a high standard of holistic nursing care to critically ill and injured patients
- Acting as a senior clinical resource during shifts, supporting both nursing and veterinary teams
- 70% clinical and 30% administrative, allowing you to maintain your hands-on clinical skills while taking on responsibilities that help support the day-to-day operations of the department
- Mentoring and guiding less experienced nurses to build confidence, skills, and clinical judgement
- Assisting with anaesthesia, advanced procedures, and surgery
- In-house laboratory testing, complemented by advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound, endoscopy and CT
If you’re an experienced ECC nurse seeking a role that recognises your expertise, values your leadership, and invests in your continued growth - Apply now, we would love to hear from you!
