General Manager – Commercial Performance (Vet Services)

  • Full-time

Company Description

This is a rare opportunity to shape the commercial engine of a leading veterinary network - combining strategy, systems, and real impact on clinic performance. You’ll operate at executive level, influence enterprise-wide outcomes, and build a best-in-class commercial function from the ground up. With full ownership of pricing, margin, and performance systems, you’ll have the platform to drive meaningful EBITDA improvement while supporting clinicians to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional patient care.

About the Role

As General Manager – Commercial Performance, you’re the single point of accountability for commercial outcomes across Vet Services. You will design and embed a unified commercial system that lifts profitability, improves pricing discipline, and simplifies operations without compromising clinical integrity.

This is a highly strategic and operational role, bridging Finance, Operations, Clinical Leadership, IT, and Procurement to ensure commercial intent translates into consistent, scalable results across a multi-site clinic network. You will also play a key leadership role as part of the Vet Services Senior Leadership Team.

  • Establish clear governance across pricing, margins, billing, and inventory
  • Ensure frameworks are clinically credible, financially sound, and operationally practical

Pricing, Margin & Cost Leadership

  • Own enterprise pricing architecture, corridors, and margin guardrails
  • Oversee COGS and cost control to drive sustainable margin improvement
  • Identify and eliminate margin leakage across pricing, billing, and inventory

Commercial Systems & Integrity

  • Lead commercial design within PIMS and supporting systems (including billing configuration)
  • Simplify systems to reduce clinic admin burden and improve consistency
  • Ensure integrity from pricing design through to revenue realisation

  • Partner with executives on scenario modelling and decision support
  • Use data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance gaps

Compliance & Assurance

  • Implement billing guidelines and training to uplift capability across clinics
  • Ensure adherence to pricing and commercial frameworks
  • Balance governance with practical adoption across the network

Leadership & Capability

  • Build and lead the Commercial Performance function
  • Develop a high-performing team across pricing, insights, and process improvement

What You Bring

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in commercial, pricing, or performance roles within complex, multi-site environments
  • Deep veterinary or healthcare industry experience, spanning both clinical and operational leadership
  • Proven track record designing enterprise commercial systems (pricing, billing, inventory, receivables)
  • Strong financial acumen with a focus on margin improvement and performance optimisation
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change without direct operational control
  • Commercial curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to simplify complexity

Measures of Success

  • Improved gross margin and financial sustainability
  • Strong pricing compliance and billing accuracy
