We are looking for an Experienced Head Vet Nurse to join our Wishart Road team!

As Head Nurse, you will be a steady, dependable presence who’s always thinking one step ahead, a team player who is great with people and animals alike!

The responsibilities of this position will include:

• Managing a team of Vet Nurses and supporting busy Vets
• Guiding and developing the Nurse team, building a positive team culture
• Undertaking general nursing tasks, including team-based consulting, pathology, surgical nursing, administration duties and emergency and critical care
• Taking initiative to enhance clinic operations and efficiency
• Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure high standards of patient care
• Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone
• Managing stock inventory to enable high quality of patient care
• Organising maintenance and repairs of equipment in conjunction with the practice manager

Our ideal candidate:

• Holds a Cert IV qualification in Veterinary Nursing with minimum of 4+ years of experience
• Possesses strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• A genuine love for upskilling and mentoring Vet Nurses
• Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
• Calm, friendly, empathetic, and mature
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of RX Works ideal but not essential
