Opening our doors on the 16th of January 2023, this multidisciplinary veterinary hospital offers western Melbourne pet owners and their pets access to GP, Emergency and Specialist services. While our team will also be dedicated to supporting our future veterinary practitioners studying at The University of Melbourne with clinical experience.

Job Description
We are recruiting for a Senior ECC Veterinarian looking to take the next step in their career!
The role is diverse, and we will assist you in growing your knowledge and skills. With the support of ECC Specialist Dr Liam Donaldson (DACVECC), and registrars and specialists in the fields of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Dentistry and Anaesthesia, you will gain exposure to complex cases requiring critical care and multidisciplinary management.
Such cases may include;
- patients requiring mechanical ventilation secondary to elapid snake envenomation,
- septic cases requiring extensive monitoring and instrumentation (central venous catheters, arterial catheters, invasive arterial blood pressures etc) and,
- post-operative multi-disciplinary cases requiring ICU referral (post-op balloon valvuloplasty patients, post-op thoracotomy patients, polytrauma cases etc).
We strongly believe in continuing education and undertake monthly morbidity and mortality rounds as well as ECC journal club. This is of course in addition to your many continuing education benefits as a Greencross Employee outlined further below.
Our Emergency and Critical Care team will have access to a roster that supports shift work and allows you to recover and enjoy your days off. Our senior ECC clinicians work between 6 am–midnight (no overnight shifts) and a 1:3 – 1:4 weekend rota.
Finally, given our strong relationship with the University of Melbourne, you will guide the development of future veterinarians through the support of the University of Melbourne DVM program. This includes on-the-floor training to DVM students. You will also play an integral role in the training of our Greencross Vet Hospital ECC interns as we establish our Greencross Vet Hospital ECC Internship program.
