Job Description

The Manager of Database Operations leads administration of the Raisers Edge database to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting, processing of gifts, and all list generation and segmentation including for development, membership and marketing.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Manage the Raisers Edge Database

  • Create and manage a process for efficient and effective database administration and the standardization of data entry, including accurate record-keeping and reporting of memberships.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Box Office and Reservations to support RE membership and other guest data entry standardization as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a structure within the database to effectively identify specific segments of the data for analysis, communication or reporting, including weekly membership mailings.
  • Design and run needed queries, reports, templates, forms in an efficient and timely way.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Finance to prepare timely monthly closings and reporting.
  • Oversee mailing lists and donor/member correspondence processes, including the Do Not Mail list.
  • Oversee the process for entering and acknowledging contributions, and the keeping of accurate database records.
  • Develop data management processes for all data into and out of RE.
  • Establish best practices and use of attributes and actions within constituent records.
  • Maintain and segment active donor database to identify and manage the inactive segment, ensuring the database contains the maximized active prospects and donors; Add and/or remove RE records from database to maximize resources.
  • Coordinate data needs and usage of RE by all GLSC staff.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and conduct regular maintenance on RE database.
  • Create and maintain Process and Procedures Manual for GLSC employees
  • Provide individual onboarding and training for everyone with access to the RE system.
  • Review data and provide coaching for individuals not correctly utilizing the database.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills including Raisers Edge database management, data entry processes and reporting experience.
  • 2+ years experience in a Development office setting or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience in direct mail and annual fund preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelors’ degree required.

  • Must be sensitive to confidential nature of member and donor information.
  • High level of critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to verify and correct work before submitting, to ensure accuracy.
  • Self-starter and goal-oriented, to be able to work at a self-directed pace.
  • Accurate typing skills necessary for data entry.
  • Able to establish priorities, work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work effectively with donors, volunteers and colleagues; and a high level of initiative and results oriented leadership abilities
