Job Description
The Associate Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of our Engineering Department employees. The duties of the role include staff management, leading professional and performance development, general team leadership, technical standards/templates creation and guidance documentation development, and quality control/compliance within the Engineering Department.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and direct a team of Engineering employees, including direct reports, and indirect reports.
- Identifying skill shortage and working with the recruitment team for ongoing hiring efforts
- Manage team average utilization rate, as budgeted annually, review, analyze, and implement staffing plans that promote the most effective use of team resources.
- Mentor employees on all aspects of their roles and jobs; this includes, conduct individual monthly employee review meetings against individual objectives; help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered.
- Assisting in achieving short- and long-term Corporate goals.
- Build and maintain a team of knowledgeable, skilled employees who function in compliance with all regulatory requirements and Grantek’s objectives.
- Communication job expectations to direct employees and accomplish overall team performance standards.
- Ensure employees are up to date on industry/technology best practices, new laws and regulations impacting work
- Develop, foster, and promote a position and fulfilling work environment; be accountable for employee retention within team.
- Actively involved with performance reviews of direct reports work, mentor, and lead regarding best in class design and engineering principles, tools, methodology and quality results expectations.
- Provide technical sales support as needed assisting Client Solutions Team.
- Provision case studied to highlight industry and customer success for Marketing team.
- Keep updated for resource needs for projects across Delivery, particularly those that are disruptive to Engineering loading and scaling. Communicate any bottle neck to Delivery and create / implement skills development plans based on forecast.
- Engage, support and participate in departmental decisions, direction and strategy development
Qualifications
- Experience managing and leading teams
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of relevant design or engineering topics, and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields
- Energetic and tenacious team player with a passion for mentorship and collaboration
- Outside the box thinking, with a drive for People Management and process improvement
- Experience in planning, managing projects, having scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult and responsible assignments.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Willingness to travel up to 30% throughout India
