Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Automation Consulting Engineer with expertise in the life sciences sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and solutions to our clients in the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing automation systems. Your primary focus will be on the life sciences industry, working closely with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies to improve their manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct thorough assessments of existing systems, develop automation strategies, oversee project execution, and provide training and support to clients. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of life sciences manufacturing operations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions.
- Execute, and generate deliverables for, projects following the GAMP 5 approach.
- Write and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ).
- Conceptualizing during the design phase of the project life cycle
- System programming, debugging, and testing
- Creating documentation, including project engineering notes, project proposals, project design traceability documentation, case studies, and more
- Commissioning new solutions at client sites; finding opportunities for improvements
- Creating methodologies and complex problem-solving
- Learning new technologies
- Mentoring colleagues on your expertise and knowledge base

Qualifications
- Successful or upcoming completion of B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology degree.
- Must have experience working on pharmaceutical or life science projects.
- Academic or working experience with some or all the listed “Technologies Used”, in previous section.
- Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-starter individual, who is a quick learner.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Have full-time access to a personal vehicle
- Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout North America
