Job Description

As a key member of Grantek's operations team, you will be focused on advancing the Industry 4.0 Consulting practice, acting as a trusted advisor to Grantek's customers in the topic of Industry 4.0. You will connect emerging technologies to the customer's business needs and elicit user requirements for Industry 4.0 solutions. You will also be a vital link to Grantek's Smart Manufacturing Practice, acting as the voice of the customer as user requirements and business needs are translated into fully-traceable and scalable solutions.

Grantek will leverage our extensive technical and industry knowledge and deep experience consulting on smart solutions to provide crucial support to our customers and their Industry 4.0 needs. You will interface with representatives of site, regional, and global leadership in a variety of manufacturing organizations, promoting Grantek's expertise in Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing.

Your in-depth knowledge and experience working within the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and consumer packaged goods industry verticals, including the unique challenges and regulatory requirements therein, along with your ability to guide and build a small team of Industry 4.0 professionals in future will bolster our ever-growing Engineering team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and advance Grantek's Industry 4.0 consulting program, working alongside the Product Manager and Smart Manufacturing Solutions Group: 

  • Create the processes, artifacts, and deliverables required to launch and grow the program; 

  • Create compelling offerings that are relevant, and thought-provoking; 

  • Directly deliver consulting services and programs to large manufacturers in the Food & Beverage and Life Science industries: 

  • Engage and guide client stakeholders representing a range of roles, from plant-floor to C-suite; 

  • Provide business consulting and Continuous Improvement services involving: workshops, road mapping, process mapping, workflow assessment, blueprinting, vendor / product evaluation and selection, documentation; 

  • Deliver solution generation services using IIoT, Manufacturing IT, and / or Industry 4.0 technologies; 

  • Attract, lead and manage a team of consultants and SMEs to advance and grow Grantek's Industry 4.0 consulting program, through a mix of internal dedicated, internal borrowed, and external partner resources: 

  • Achieve performance targets for the Practice; 

  • Foster a positive and rewarding experience for direct and indirect reports, aligned with Grantek's people management guidelines and standards; 

  • Support sales and marketing enablement and efforts related to the Practice: 

  • Create, manage and grow executive-level relationships at key clients; 

  • Be a public-facing thought-leader in the Industry 4.0 space; 

  • Lead and conduct business activities from remote, in-office, and on-site (client) work environments; 

  • Travel up to 75%; 

Strong functional expertise related to: 

  • Manufacturing value chain - specifically related to Food & Beverage, CPG, and / or Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical / Biopharmaceutical / Medical Devices) 

  • Discrete and / or Process Manufacturing Operations - including planning/forecasting, supply management, procurement, sales and operations planning, engineering, production scheduling, maintenance, production controls, quality control, inventory management, supply chain, warehouse and distribution 

  • Industry 4.0 technologies, Industrial IT/OT, Industrial Automation, and associated use cases 

  • ERP, MRP, S&OP / Production Scheduling, Maintenance Management / Scheduling, Labor Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, SCADA, Quality and/or Laboratory Management Systems 

  • Demonstrated delivery of successful consulting and solution engagements with manufacturing clients, involving: 

  • System Implementation / Integration, Cost Savings, Process Improvement, Production Capacity Improvement, Organizational Effectiveness, Supply Chain, Capital Project Management, and Maintenance / Reliability Improvement 

Qualifications

  • Engineering or Applied Science degree in related discipline to Industry 4.0 technology, or equivalent accreditation or demonstrated experience; 

  • Leadership and management experience: 

  • 8+ years' experience successfully leading and managing teams of consultants, engineers and / or technologists, in North America, OR 10+ years' experience successfully leading and managing teams in an operational / technology leadership role in a manufacturing environment in North America; 

  • Certified Reliability Engineer designation; or equivalent experience; 

  • Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement certification or related experience;
