Job Description

Director, Delivery (Project Management) works in collaboration with the other Delivery Group Directors and is responsible for the overall direction, development, and function of the Delivery Management group, including providing leadership for project direction, project execution, and process improvement. 

This individual must be located in the general Greater Toronto area as travel to client site is required. We have a flexible work environment outside of requirements of travel to site. Feel free to choose to work from home, office or a combination!

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team, responsible for Teams overall execution of client projects
  • Manage and oversee the portfolio of project sand other client activities in their Team
  • Engages and supports in the execution of sales and proposal risk analysis
  • Supports the development and review of project proposals and submissions
  • Financial monitoring and reporting for all current client engagements
  • Determine basic operating policies and solve primary problems to accomplish objectives in the most economical manner to meet any unusual condition
  • Participate in workforce planning activities with Engineering to ensure maximized utilization and profitability of the organization
  • Support direction and planning for future technology and sales strategies; plan for future skill sets and market analysis; plan for additional staff acquisition; perform forecasting and sustainability territory
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, HR and Engineering
  • Accomplish overall department performance standards by communicating job expectations  to  direct  reports;  this  will  include  planning, monitoring, appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Ensure the maintenance of quality within department by enforcing quality and standards; analyzing and resolving problems; identifying trends; recommending improvements
  • Be responsible for short (and some long) range strategic planning
  • Conduct post engagement reviews/audits and address customer satisfaction needs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer standards/practices when working on jobs and/or projects
  • Actively keep up to date with new technologies and relevant emerging business trends; attend seminars/tradeshows on newly accepted technologies or related industry topics
  • Bring forward suggestions and ideas to improve or develop departmental or company systems and practices

Qualifications

  • Have a minimum of 8 years of full life-cycle project experience
  • Have a minimum of 3 years people leadership experience
  • Flexible with travel, which can be expected to be up to 80%. Most travel will be within Ontario and within driving distance of the Burlington office
  • Is regarded as a fully qualified Senior level professional consultant, with extensive knowledge in manufacturing IT systems, industry trends and standards, financial planning, risk management and problem-solving skill
  • Possesses at least one of the following: B.Sc. Computer Science, Business, Related Engineering or Supply Chain Management Degree and/or Diploma/Certification (or in some instances, related and equivalent experience)
