Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director Organizational Excellence, this person will drive the continuous improvement programs under their dynamic leadership and will orchestrate the company-wide Corrective Action/Preventive Action list, internal continuous improvement projects and guiding the problem-solving efforts by ensuring alignment with the desired outcomes.

- Ensure the day-to-day operations and workflow of company-wide internal continuous improvement functions.

- Manage the company-wide Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) list, which will include all internal continuous improvement opportunities identified by audit, formal reports, personal submission, and via other methods.

  • Conduct a monthly prioritization review with leaders of other departments to determine which CI opportunities require attention in which sequence.
  • Add all new items to the CAPA list.
  • Received nonconformance reports.
  • Received customer complaints.
  • Audit deviations.
  • Update the status of all items on the CAPA list regularly.
  • Remove resolved or deprioritized items from the CAPA list regularly and communicate their disposition to the relevant parties.
  • Communicate the status of all open items in the list, for inclusion into a department dashboard.

- Lead Problem-Solving efforts associated with deviations from desired outcomes or established policies and procedures.

  •   Perform data analysis and involve interested people in data analysis efforts using common CI tools, such as: fishbone analysis, five why’s, etc.  
  • Lead meetings to drive out the problem definition, root causes, and corrective actions.
  •  Oversee the execution of corrective actions.

- Run/Manage internal Continuous Improvement projects based on items in the CAPA list.

  •  Create and manage internal projects.
  •  Engage company resources to help make changes, as appropriate.
  • Define success criteria for the projects based on the CAPA item(s), in conjunction with relevant department leaders.
  •  Perform all project management duties.

- Perform change management procedures for all processes, standard operating procedures, and work instructions changed as a result of internal Continuous Improvement projects.

  • Write announcements and communicate changes on company internal message platform.
  • Conduct lunch-n-learns, as appropriate.
  •  Oversee the creation of training videos and rollout in Grantek U for process changes that require training.

- Assist the Senior Director with other duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Obtained a post-secondary education in a related field
  • Certification in lean six sigma continuous improvement methodologies considered an asset
  • Demonstrates skills in Quality and Continuous Improvement problem solving, including common CI tools/processes, root cause data analysis,
  • and communication. Industry recognized certifications are valued.
  •  Demonstrates project management experience.
  • -Be proficient in the following systems and applications: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and analysis tools such as PowerBI
  •  Demonstrate analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  •  Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 % across North America.
