Job Description

As a key member of the Information Technology Team, you will be a liaison to other departments such as Finance, and responsible for learning their business processes and needs.  Utilize Microsoft technologies to provide functional and intuitive reports and dashboards.  Develop and document process flows, the data dictionary, and technology interfaces.  Advance towards a deep understanding of operational and financial data and promote its transformation into actionable information.  Deliver solutions around enhanced interfaces, data extract/mart, improved reporting, and analytical data platforms.  Recommend and implement technologies that make sense for the environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Finance and Operations teams to validate data and determine process improvements to resolve current challenges and future needs
  • Assemble, sort, analyze, validate, and automate multi-faceted data to improve the financial reporting processes
  • Develop and automate reports utilizing SQL Server, SSRS, PowerBI, and Tableau
  • Optimizing data models for downstream consumption by BI platforms such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Collect reporting data from multiple teams and sources, and aggregate to provide business value
  • Support changes to Reports and Dashboards to allow the business to track additional metrics as required
  • Act as liaison between IT and Finance, identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities, and providing technical assistance for improving data transformation
  • Contribute to the team in both technical and analytical aspects by sharing and adopting best practices
  • Design, develop, and support ETL solutions that ensure data is accurate, normalized, and in a format that enables flexible reporting for Business Intelligence tools
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
  • Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and reference data
  • Define and own the data reference architecture for the enterprise – “be the data expert”
  • Oversee the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics
  • Define standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching, and delivering data

Qualifications

Technologies Used/Experience Required:

  • Minimum 4 years of MS SQL Server and DBA experience including database tuning, creating & maintaining stored procedures, performing backup & recovery, and data modeling
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data warehouses
  • Extensive experience using ELT tools to automate data load processes
  • Strong communication skills, particularly those relevant to translating highly technical information for non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field
  • Ability to create and read logical / physical data models
  • Ability to create and maintain data dictionaries and data models
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and Qlikview
  • Familiarity with SSIS and SSRS
  • API tools for interfacing with external systems and data movement
  • Subject matter expertise in PowerShell automation
