Job Description

The Functional Specialist is involved in the planning, development and strategic direction of various Smart Manufacturing initiatives within Grantek and for Grantek’s clients, within one or more industries. They also perform assessments, develop road maps and user requirements per industry standards and best practices, and drive the outflow of technical projects into Grantek to meet the user requirements

Deliverables

  • Develop and maintain templates, tools and methodologies for the sales, implementation and maintenance of specific technical solutions.
  • Coordinate and lead workshops and focus groups with project teams and client representatives.
  • Gather and evaluate technical views and industry trends.
  • Build business case justifications and determine impact studies of new technologies and strategies.
  • Develop end-user training and user manuals.
  • Interface with Project teams, technical resources and business end-users.
  • Participate in planning to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Assist in establishing guides, devising new approaches, applying existing criteria in new manners, and drawing conclusions from comparative situations.
  • Participate in planning to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer standards/practices when working on projects.
  • Develop and maintain key client relationships; observe for potential client needs, probe for potential/upcoming work, alert Managers to potential jobs.
  • Bring forward suggestions and ideas to improve or develop departmental or company systems and practices.
  • Willingness to travel between 25-100%
  • Willingness to work over-time and non-business hours when required
  • Will typically possess 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrates expert level analytical, decision making and problem solving skills

Qualifications

 

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of MOM/MES standards and practices, including specifically ISA-95. Understands a broad range of manufacturing IT systems, including SCADA, process historians and MES systems, and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields.
  • Is regarded as a fully qualified Senior level professional consultant, with extensive knowledge in manufacturing IT systems, industry trends and standards.
  • Possesses at least one of the following: B.Sc. Computer Science, Business, Related Engineering or Supply Chain Management Degree and/or Diploma/Certification (or in some instances, related and equivalent experience).
