Get to Know the Team

At Financial Services, the Payment team builds end-to-end payment experiences and platforms that help merchants accept payments and grow across Southeast Asia. We empower frictionless checkouts with configurable, developer-friendly capabilities—so partners can embed payments and iterate quickly. From QR payments to lending repayments and in-person acceptance flows, we work across multiple payment journeys to deliver reliable user and merchant outcomes.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a experienced and passionate backend engineer to join our Tech Family. You will develop scalable backend systems that power products used by millions of people across Southeast Asia. You will be expected to take ownership of complex technical problems end to end, drive high-quality execution, and raise the engineering bar through strong technical judgment, collaboration, and mentorship. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be based in our Jakarta Office

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Lead the design, and operation of scalable, maintainable, and reliable backend services and platform components.
  • Convert product and requirements into technical solutions while driving design discussions and architectural trade-offs.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality code by maintaining standards in testing, performance, observability, and rigorous code reviews.
  • Partner with product, business, mobile, web, data, and infrastructure teams to solve end-to-end-user and system challenges.
  • Improve service reliability through monitoring, proactive system health fixes, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation and take active ownership during production incidents.
  • Guide engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify and guide ongoing improvements in engineering processes, developer productivity, and overall system health.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with backend development experience in production environments.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, and have computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed backend systems at scale.
  • Solid experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases, caching systems such as Redis, and asynchronous or event-driven architectures.
  • Debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Proficiency in communicating in English
  • You work in Agile environments and collaborate well across departments.
