Get to Know the Team
The Marketplace team focuses on balancing GrabCar and GrabTaxi's multi-sided marketplaces. We manage the balance between supply and demand for the Transport business by understanding the behavior of both our driver partners and passengers. Using these insights helps us make data-driven business decisions to drive growth, efficiency, and profitability.
On the supply side, our core responsibilities include managing supply operations such as allocating, incentivizing, and optimizing the driver pool, with a continuous aim to improve driver behavior and performance. Regarding demand, we generate and optimize demand through new features, products, and campaigns to influence passenger behavior.
Get to Know the Role
As a Assistant Manager, 4W Mobility Core Business - Supply, you will work closely with our driver and passenger-facing teams (Driver Operations and Marketing) and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
- Data Analysis: Identify key issues and opportunities for the Transport business based on data-driven insights and assess the impact of initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead multiple projects to explore business issues and opportunities in targeted growth areas.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate across different departments, providing direction and guidance to balance trade-offs in the overall marketplace.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will run supply and demand experiments to influence customer behavior for an optimal marketplace balance.
- You will conduct on-ground visits to understand customer (driver partners and passengers) experiences and address their pain points.
- You will collaborate with product teams to launch and localize new product features.
- You will perform data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and financial modeling to assess business initiatives or proposals.
- You will track business performance, identifying key issues and devising strategies to address them.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Management, Industrial/Management Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in project management, data analytics, business strategy, or operations
- Good business acumen and curiosity about data.
- Quick learning agility and a strong sense of ownership.
- Problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude with the ability to understand root causes and work with multidisciplinary teams to propose solutions.
- Expertise in creating business cases and models for special projects targeted at business growth.
- Skills in financial forecasting, budgeting, and pricing cause-and-effect simulation.
The Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working at or building a startup business.
- Proficiency in any analytics tools (MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, R Studio) with willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge.
