Job Description
Get to Know the Team
Procurement Governance & Intelligence (G&I) is Grab's internal standard-setter and intelligence layer for procurement. We are accountable to the policies, processes, and platforms that make procurement decisions faster, smarter, and defensible across all markets we operate in.
We don't just write rules. We design systems that make doing Right Thing the easy: advocating governance into procurement workflows, risk signals into commercial decisions, and ESG requirements into supplier lifecycle. This is so that compliance is a by-product of good process and infrastructure, not a separate manual policing effort.
We are in a period of active reinvention. We rebuild frameworks with AI-augmented tooling. We also rethink how governance data becomes predictive procurement intelligence. We improve on what "good" would be across Source-to-Contract, Third-Party Risk, and Supplier Performance Governance.
Get to Know the Role
- Procurement G&I Manager establishes the architecture of Grab's procurement governance and risk framework and puts it in practice
- You will translate procurement strategy into policies, play-book guides, and system rules that Category & Commercial teams and Business Partners can actually use.
- You will be accountable to Grab's supplier risk and ESG agenda end-to-end: from segmentation models to contract clauses to monitoring workflows. You will be deputy to the Head of Procurement G&I, helping shape the team's direction and agenda.
You will report to the Head of Procurement G&I and will be base onsite, with regional scope across all Grab entities.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You see procurement differently to most people in it. You understand the multi faceted value the function can unlock, and you are impatient with the legacy practices that get in the way of that. Not cynical. Impatient. There is a difference.
- You have an independent view on where AI is taking procurement as a profession and a function. You have thought about what governance will be when sourcing starts running at machine speed, what oversight means, what new risks emerge, where human judgment matters most. You are already working with AI tools and foraying on, or seriously researching procurement agentic builds. You are past the level 1 AI exploring phase.
- You think thoroughly and communicate well. You can take a complex risk framework, turn it into a workflow in procurement systems, and explain the same thing to a business partners - simple but clear. When you write, you write for the persona reading it, not for the audit trail.
- You have the hunger to build. Not just manage something that already exists. You are the kind of person who, when handed a legacy process, immediately starts sketching what a better version would look like. You do not need ten years of experience for this role. You need curiosity (intellectual), the courage to challenge the status quo, and the imagination to design what an AI-native procurement function could look like in practice. It's nascent and you want to shape it.
- You are a solution seeker and first-principles driven. You do not simply ask, “What is the policy?” You ask, “What risk are we trying to control, what decision are we trying to improve, and what is the simplest workable design?” You will work with IT, Risk Domains, Audit, Procurement Category Leaders, PTP COE, and SSC to turn that thinking into practical governance, workflows, and controls.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
Must-haves:
- 8–10 years in procurement, sourcing, risk, or commercial operations - with real operational, not theoretical, depth in governance, Sourcing, Contracting, Supplier Relationship and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM)
- TPRM knowledge that goes beyond a checklist: risk segmentation, due diligence, ESG integration as a design problem
- Comfortable with spend data: can interrogate it, find patterns, build a story from it, and spot when it is wrong
- You have written policies or frameworks that yield tangible, measurable impact or outcomes
- You communicate to change minds, not just share information or document for audit trail
What sets the right candidate apart:
- Using AI in your work today, with a clear view of where it fails, not just where it helps
- Experience designing S2C processes, reimagining processes for better impact, implementing systems or running a procurement transformation and change management
- Worked with Oracle Procurement, a CLM platform, Intake Orchestrator, or TPRM tooling - co-design experience matters more than knowing the interface
- Procurement background is relevant, but only if your instinct is to challenge and smartly improve/reinvent how things work, not to defend the way they have always been done
