Get to know the Role

We are looking for a Lead Solution Specialist, People Systems to serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation, while also acting as the overall functional lead across other Workday modules, including Core HCM. In this role, you will lead the design, configuration, and optimization of Workday solutions across compensation and broader People processes, partnering with People, Rewards, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, effective system solutions.

You will play an important role in shaping functional design decisions, improving process effectiveness, and ensuring Workday capabilities are delivered consistently across modules. This role is suited for someone who can combine deep functional expertise in compensation with broad Workday knowledge, strong stakeholder management, and delivery leadership across complex People Systems initiatives.

 

This role will be reporting to Solution Manager II, People Systems and will be based onsite at our Petaling Jaya office.

 

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:

  • Serve as the functional/technical expert for Workday Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation.
  • Lead the end-to-end functional design of Workday solutions across Core HCM and related modules.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify gaps, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Configure, test, and deploy Workday enhancements & projects across Compensation, Core HCM, reporting, EIB, and security.
  • Resolve system and process issues, and drive improvements to simplify and strengthen Workday operations.
  • Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation, and train users on new processes and functionality
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and quality review.

Qualifications

The must haves skills

  • 10+ years of HRIS platform experience with 5+ years of Workday experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, and Reporting.
  • Proven experience as a functional lead across multiple Workday modules, including Core HCM.
  • Experience leading at least 3 Advanced Compensation cycles or launches end to end.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday HCM, including configuration, business processes, testing, and UAT.
  • Good hands-on experience with Workday reporting, analytics, EIB, and security.

Good to have

  • Experience with additional Workday modules (Absence, Time Tracking, Talent) or integrations.
  • Experience coaching team members and reviewing solution quality.
  • Exposure to governance, audit, or compliance in enterprise People Systems.
