The Workforce Planning team is a strategic pillar within People Operations. We serve as the primary drivers of Grab's human capital efficiency. Our mission is to ensure that Grab's growth is sustainable, data-driven, and optimised. Operating at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and People, we ensure that resource deployment supports both aggressive growth and operational excellence.

The role of Manager, Workforce Planning enables Grab to achieve its strategic goals through productivity advantages. This end-to-end role bridges leadership strategy with regional execution, spanning from building meticulous data models and implementing planning cycles to serving as a strategic problem-solving partner to the business. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Workforce Planning
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
The work requires a balance of analytical rigour and the ability to connect complex dots.
- Lead regional governance and process improvement: You will lead the end-to-end headcount planning and budgeting cycles, ensuring alignment with financial constraints. You will actively re-engineer workflows and toolsets to eliminate recurring process gaps and drive scalability.
- Build productivity insights and future-ready models: You will develop productivity metrics (e.g. Cost-to-Serve, Efficiency Ratios) to identify gaps and opportunities for workforce augmentation.
- Translate strategy into actionable advisory: You will partner with leadership to architect organisational design and resource allocation, optimising spans and layers. You will translate high-level guidance into clear plans for working teams while signalling strategic implications, such as skill-building needs, to the wider People Team.
- Communicate trade-offs and influence action: You will transform complex data into clear executive summaries that inform high-stakes decisions. Your role involves facilitating different teams to converge into a final resolution that benefits Grab as a whole.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
We are looking for someone with minimum 7+ years of experience:
- Navigate unfamiliar domains, identify patterns, and translate high-level guidance into practical, operational direction.
- Understanding of value levers and the ability to evaluate how workforce decisions impact both growth and operational stability.
- Convene diverse stakeholders to unified plans and distil complex data into a logical narrative for senior leadership.
- A mindset that values practical, implementable solutions and the ability to apply new methods (like AI) to improve planning systems.
