The Fulfillment Tech team plays a key role in enabling seamless service across multiple businesses and marketplaces in Southeast Asia. The team builds and maintains high-throughput, real-time distributed systems capable of handling hundreds of millions of requests daily, leveraging advanced machine learning technologies. Its mission is to deliver best-in-class products and experiences for driver partners to drive higher adoption and engagement. The team also focuses on improving driver partner efficiency and earning opportunities to ensure reliable order fulfillment. In addition, we work on building efficient and sustainable marketplaces by optimizing pricing strategies that benefit both partners and customers.

Get to Know the Role

We're looking for a talented and driven Software Engineer, Backend to join our growing engineering team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain robust backend services that power our platform and impact millions of users. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build scalable, efficient systems while continuously innovating and improving our technical infrastructure. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will work with the product and design team to understand requirements, provide product feedback, own and implement the product from start to finish.
• You will drive and participate in technical discussions with other engineering teams.
• You will write code that is reusable, scalable and testable. Make sure products are delivered on time and with high quality.
• You will review code from other team members, provide constructive feedback and aim to raise the engineering bar.
• You will improve the codebase. Propose and set better engineering solutions for the team.
• You will be responsible and responsive during on-call duty. Debug and troubleshoot production issues.
• You will provide technical guidance, mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in backend development with a strong architecture mindset
• Solid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, including query optimization and data modeling
• Experience in Machine Learning / AI development or implementation is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
• Familiarity with testing frameworks, quality assurance practices, and debugging techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
