GrabDefence is a new team in the Integrity Group, building Grab's first B2B enterprise technology business. Through GrabDefence, we are opening up our fraud detection and prevention technology to our partners to help them battle fraud and fortify trust in the digital ecosystem. GrabDefence is Grab's own Fraud detection and prevention technology platform for companies that want to protect themselves from fraudsters and fraudulent transactions. Drawing from Grab's own experience operating in multiple departments across the region and battling multiple fraud attempts, GrabDefence wants to help companies build Trust in their platforms. GrabDefence is introducing new product lines such as AML, Chargeback protection, and eKYC solutions to its product portfolio, and all of these cutting-edge solutions based on AI will be launched this year, providing the applicant with a tremendous learning and growth opportunity.

Get to Know the Role

As part of The GD Engineering team, you'll design scalable systems, collaborate across functions, and drive impactful changes in a environment.

You will be reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager based in the United States and work onsite at our office in Petaling Jaya

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will take ownership of a wide range of engaging problem spaces that encompass the entire product lifecycle management, including front-end development, database design and management, data visualization, building APIs, and CI/CD management, among others.
• You will design, implement & manage web apps and backend services that impact millions of users.
• Experience a shipping culture that uses the state-of-the-art web technologies.
• Grow in an environment passionate about knowledge-sharing and code review.
• Adopt software engineering best practices to leverage on code integrity tools through code reviews, testing, tracing, logging and many others to ship quality code.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• You have experience driving complex technical projects.
• You have 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• You have proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Java, C++.
• You have experience with RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL), cloud services (AWS, GCP), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• You have solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• You have experience engaging with AI tools and latest technologies to enhance productivity, improve workflows, and contribute new ideas.

Desirable Experience

• You have domain expertise in fraud protection, with experience building systems for fraud detection, risk assessment.
• You have experience in a formal or informal technical leadership
• You have a demonstrated interest in applying modern AI technologies (such as LLMs, vector databases, or AI agents frameworks) as a tool to solve complex platform challenges.
• You have experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitLab
