The Regional Market Insights Team plays an important role in influencing Grab's strategic and operational decisions by offering insights on industry developments and competitive dynamics. We evaluate the landscape through diverse lenses and complement traditional market research and analysis with innovative techniques.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Market Insights to join our dynamic team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for extracting valuable insights from complex market data to drive informed business decisions and strategic planning.

This role is based on-site in our Petaling Jaya office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical methods to identify market trends, consumer behavior patterns, and business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders across the organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical projects
  • Design and implement data collection processes to ensure data quality and reliability
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize marketing strategies and improve business performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis and market research

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, market research or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, and R
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong statistical analysis skills and ability to apply advanced analytical techniques
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies and consumer behavior analysis
  • Understanding of business intelligence and its application in decision-making processes
