Get to Know the Team
The Regional Payments team oversees, shapes and drives the strategy and growth initiatives of funds movement for the Grab ecosystem across Southeast Asia. We are at the heart of digital innovation, focused on simplifying payments through secure, seamless solutions like card payments, e-wallets, and digital banking. The team drives decision-making, ensuring major initiatives generate the maximum value for the Grab ecosystem - both in driving down costs or generating incremental revenue.
Get to Know the Role
- Serve as the key PIC to lead the partnership with strategic payments partners including acquirers, gateways, schemes and more
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, operations, engineering teams and more in ensuring collective alignment of objectives and appropriate prioritization of resources to drive strategic initiatives
- Actively engage with country commercial teams to understand their Objectives and Key Results (OKR), proactively team up to implement payment-related initiatives and triage the payment issues encountered
- This role is based onsite at Petaling Jaya and will report to the Head, Payments Acquiring.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Act as the single point-of-contact for payment partners, taking full ownership internally as well as externally. Manage all aspects of the partnership including prioritization of key focus areas, ongoing partner management and more
- Develop commercial strategy for the assigned payment partners and lead the commercial discussion end-to-end from deal negotiation to finalizing of the agreement
- Collaborate closely with payment partners to optimize payment economics and operations, triaging payments issues with payment partners
- Maintain close partnership with the assigned payment partners to identify opportunities that will help drive the payment strategic objectives
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Strong record in account management, preferably with 5 years or more working experience in partnerships within payment industry
- A team player who can build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders cross functionally
- Demonstrate exceptional spoken and written ability to influence and persuade stakeholders through communicate and presentation materials
- Display a fundamental understanding in payment industry including processing of card payment transactions and approval rate optimisation
- Proven track record in project management and implementation with cross-functional teams
